Today is December Nineteenth. My beloved dog Roxy is seven today. It is Friday. The sun showed itself for the first time this week this afternoon, amid the many blue holes in the cloud cover; it was warm. Other than that, it rained all day.
Monday it was sunny and 65 degrees. I was at work, looking the grounds over, and suddenly spotted a garter snake. At work there is a stone wall that supports snake populations at either end. During mowing season one might see these critters nearly every mow. But here was one of these snakes, out crawling around, on December Fifteenth. Seemed noteworthy.
The next day, that same spot had five inches of snow on it. Tuesday was cold and it snowed all day, often heavily. During afternoon rush hour, conditions were polished ice covered in snow. Many school busses didn't have students home until nearly seven. Both interstates were closed. Traffic went berserk. By eight, the roads and traffic cleared out but it kept snowing. And it was snowing Wednesday morning. Turned to rain that night and all the snow was washed away and totally gone Thursday morning. The rain hasn't stopped. OK. I predict a white Christmas! Have a good one.
